According to the Ministry of Agriculture Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF), the edible portion of food loss and waste in Japan reached a staggering 6.43 million tons in 2017.

Businesses

(3.38 million tons)

Households

(2.84 million tons)

More than half of the recorded FLW in 2017 come from businesses and the rest come from households. The Japanese government has taken action and set a target to halve the edible portion of food loss and waste by the year 2030.

We believe that the success of reducing food loss is by involving everyone in food together, which is why we created a shopping site that connects food companies, consumers, and food banks.

Together we can create a caring community where sellers and buyers can share and foster a culture of compassion and also help raise public awareness about food loss.
